Happy New Year!

New Years Eve, Nashville - 2011

Hello again friends, and Happy New Year! Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Years. My Christmas was great. Seeing family is always something I look forward to! I spent a week at my mom and dad’s in Byrdstown and had some good time to enjoy some time off the road. On New Years, I went downtown here in Nashville to see the music note drop. Lynyrd Skynyrd was the headline act, and it was CRAZY downtown! 55, 000 people crammed together on broadway to bring in the new year! It was a fun experience, but I will probably NEVER do that again! (A little too wild and rowdy for this gal! ;)

So here we are – 2012! I’m already very excited about this year. Lots of exciting things happening for the band. We fly out tomorrow to Portland, Oregon to play our first show of the year! I was able to play this festival about 2 or 3 years ago and it was a lot of fun. This year should be no exception! Can’t wait to play again! A month off the road is great, but I’m always ready to get back at it.

Talk to you soon!

  1. Hi Sierra. Looking forward to you coming to Lenoir, NC on Jan. 21. My son Sawyer is in the band Sweetbriar Jam. They will be opening for you. They are all honored and excited to be sharing the stage with you. See you there.

    Sierra,

Last night we saw your group in Akron, OH. You all are awesome and I really enjoyed the music. I could not get over the technique and musicality of all of the members of your band.

My daughter Maddie was with me and I am very appreciative of the time you spent with her – taking a picture and showing an interest in her. While I loved the music, the way you and your bandmates treated her will always make me a fan. Thank you!

    Hi Sierra,
I recently discovered your music after I heard one of your songs played on KUT (University of Texas, Austin) radio station. The station often plays new and up-coming singers and song writers. I really enjoyed the song “Tell Me Tomorrow”. I found more of your music, bought it and love it.
Please find a way to come to Austin and share your talent…please.
    Thank you.

    Sierra,
I discovered your music in the fall of last year and enjoyed listening to all of your songs. I am a board member at The Gem Theatre, in Calhoun, Georgia. We just opened the theatre last year and I thought it would be good to have you perform here. I got in touch with John Everhart, who was very helpful, and luckily got you booked for June 16th. All of us at The Gem are looking forward to having you and Highway 111 perform at our new and beautiful theatre. I hope you have a great and successful tour this year. See you in June.

    Hey Sierra and Band,
I love your music and I think that yall are some pretty talented folks. However, being a fan of your music, I am concerned about a few things. Number one, why do all of your songs sound almost the same? I can understand the need for consistancy on some level, but duplicate melodies with different lyrics just doesnt offer the diversity that many look for in an album. Also, your songs all have nearly the same message, with only a couple of deviations. For these reasons, the two best songs on your album, Daybreak, were: Land of Living and Daybreak. I know that I am a knit-picky listener, but I want you to become the next Alison Krauss, and in order to do that, you need to become more diverse.
    Thanks for being Great!

    Sierra,

Just played a ‘local’ HOMETOWN spot you are SURE to know… The Dixie Cafe… Loved seeing your video when you played there… Made me feel MORE important… LOL.. (my autograph is $1.00 now, up from .10¢ *grin*) We sold out of EVERYTHING! That was a great feeling. Not sure if your folks go there on the weekends or not, but it was a GREAT time had by all. (don’t ya just LOVE the catfish there) Anyway, just wanted to say congradulations on all your success, and Pray that God richly blesses you in ALL your lifes goals. Advise? Remember… God is #1, but don’t step in #2… (made ya laugh)

Keep safe, and keep the Faith,
    David

Hi Sierra, I’ve been a fan for more than a year now and it was a thrill to see and hear you and the band play at the Grist Mill Park in Alexandria. I could tell you were disappointed by that venue but you and the band were very professional and gave a great concert anyway. Keep up the good work young lady, I look forward to your future albums and concerts.

  11. Hi Sierra,
for our first trip to USA me and my wife went to your festival in Byrdstown. We enjoy it and we would come again some day to the very friendly People at Upper Cumberland.
    Thanks for all.

Hello Sierra, Thank you for adding me to the mailing list. I am a definite fan of bluegrass music, especially bluegrass gospel. I am an aspiring banjo/guitar player down here in Florida, and I just heard your music for the first time as I was listening to Pandora on my phone. You were singing “Trust and Obey” and I told myself I’ve GOT to hear more of her music. :) I’m not sure what albums you have out, but I will certainly be looking for them, howbeit my location in Florida is not known for its bluegrass music sales, haha.. so it may be a bit difficult. But thanks again.. Jesse. :)
